How Does Dr. Narcisi Close Gaps Between Teeth?

When many people think of closing gaps between teeth, they instantly think of traditional orthodontic treatments, such as traditional metal braces. While these methods are often effective, in many cases, there are equally effective cosmetic dentistry options that take far less time and don’t require the wearing of cumbersome, uncomfortable, highly conspicuous wires and brackets. For example, Dr. Narcisi can close gaps between teeth using:

  • Porcelain veneers: Gaps between front teeth can be concealed through the placement of porcelain veneers. These thin sheets of porcelain are custom crafted to complement surrounding natural teeth in terms of color, shape, size, and even texture. They can make narrow teeth wider, thereby closing gaps between teeth, while also concealing any other cosmetic flaws that may be present, such as chips, cracks, or discoloration.
  • Dental bonding: Dental bonding is a procedure that involves the application of a composite resin material to the front surfaces of the teeth. Like porcelain veneers, dental bonding can be used to make narrow teeth appear wider, thus closing spaces between teeth. While not quite as natural looking as porcelain veneers, dental bonding is a less expensive alternative that still looks fantastic.
  • Dental crowns: Abnormally small side teeth that are separated by gaps can be built up with dental crowns. Dental crowns replicate the entire visible surface area of teeth. When bonded over the existing tooth, a dental crown will be virtually indistinguishable from surrounding natural teeth, while protecting the underlying tooth from damage. Like porcelain veneers and dental bonding, dental crowns will also conceal any other aesthetic flaws that might be apparent.
